Amelia

Amelia is only a few weeks old. She’s just started to show the early signs of smiling and is showing interest in lights and sounds. She was born prematurely at 36 weeks but is doing well and meeting her adjusted milestones.

Young baby girl, swaddled and sleeping in a pink blanket.

Amelia has older brothers and sisters who have already been taken into care due to neglect and domestic violence in the home. The two oldest siblings are in long term care and the two younger siblings have been already been adopted.

Amelia was exposed to drugs, alcohol and domestic violence in utero. Adopters would therefore need to be prepared to accept uncertainties about her early experience might impact her later in life.

While Amelia mum was pregnant with her, the decision was made that Afia would have a plan of adoption. As she gets older, we would like adopters to help Amelia maintain a relationship with her siblings.
